    The Mask

It's been awhile since I posted in critiques but here's one for you. This was shot with Tmax 400. Let me know if you think??? If you like it I may try to wet print this one in the darkroom.

Nicely seen Greg. I wonder had you moved more to the left would it give the impression of the mask been over the steering wheel (as though it was the driver)? A person visible in the back seat would have been good too.

I have a total lack of respect for anything connected with society, except that which makes the roads safer, the beer stronger, the food cheaper, and the old men and old women warmer in the winter and happier in the summer. Brendan Behan

Thanks Tom. I thought that very thing after I had developed it. There was a lot of distractions around me as well.

    Cool mask.

I should get some kind of prop to drag down to the forests with me. Your photo just reminded me to get a windshield cleaner in my truck. Last trip to the redwoods, there was a great reflection of sunset-illuminated tree tops across my windshield, and I had nothing to clean the bug spots off with.

Do you have other masks too?

Lol. Thanks, it's not my mask or car or I certainly would have cleaned the windshield. I just happened by this one.

Nice, Greg. An interesting find. It looked at first from the shadows behind the mask as if there was a person crawling up onto the dashboard wearing the mask, there is some dynamic going on there.

    Well done

    Re: The Mask

The mask looks betwixt and between, not solid white and yet not enough shading to reveal the curvature in its cheek and brow features. Do you think you can bring that out in printing?

I'm not sure about that black and white cow-pattern thing on the left hand side. On one hand it balances the white mask, on the other it hand distracts the eye from it, and on the other other hand if you crop out the passenger side putting the mask in the upper left it's a totally different image.

It made me think of the masks in AI, if that makes sense?
So the placement in the centre of the driver's seat is natural to me.

It's a good theme photo. But it needs a series.

    Re: The Mask

My initial thoughts, went to crop, take some away from the bottom to just under the steering wheel and on the top to eliminate the sticker. Some additional contrast possibly to remove the windscreen shine.
