strummer.....welcome to the forum.

I don't know what the racing enthusiasts will tell you, but to me it (the Maserati) seems a little dark. Perhaps a bit underexposed? I would like to have seen it a little closer as well.

A tricky shot ... the exposure range needed looks to be beyond what the camera can actually deliver.
It's a pity that the cloud covered the track at the wrong moment.
It made the exhaust flame on the overrun pop out htough, so it's not all bad news !

But it looks underexposed in that cloudy section, yet on the verge of overexposed on the white barrier.

Thanks for the tips, the shot was taken from the side of a hill about 100m back on a cloudy day. The main thing I was trying to capture was the exhaust flame, and it took quite some time to finally get it. here's another shot
