    Marathon sunset and windmill

My wife and I just got back from a trip to Big Bend, these are the first posts from that trip. I snapped several photos outside of the Escana Del Sol restaurant in Marathon (very good by the way). With or without the windmill and other feedback/thoughts, thanks team-

    Re: Marathon sunset and windmill

I like the windmill one out of the two. The first one is truly magnificent, yet there is no contrasting element or strong subject matter. Also, the colors are a tad bland in both. I think with this shot you could really make the colors pop.

    Nice eye,

    Re: Marathon sunset and windmill

    Okay
Number 1 is my prefered option because the windmill and the tree are croppped to high and leaves me feeling short changed. I want to see what is on the ground and sort of leaves me hanging or suspended in mid air (Duh hanging or suspended - babbling)

So for me the first but as already stated needs a little more punch to make it stand out.

    Re: Marathon sunset and windmill

Here is the sans windmill photo retouched to try and deepen the sky and provide more contrast between sky, clouds and the rays of light. Let me know if this revision is inline with what you were thinking.

There's no pleasing some folk. :-(

Yes looks better but I now see the tree on the right and the tops of houses on the bottom. If it was just mountains then I'd be happy.

I'd almost say drop the mountains and the tree and this would be better.
