    A Manitoba Sunrise view

headed out last night 3:30 in the morning, and the sky was starting to lighten up, my star trail was too blown out for anything to save,so i thought i'm here, lets freeze together with the two dogs, and wait for the sunrise pics, equestrian playground, and a cropped tree.

    Re: A Manitoba Sunrise view

IMO the tree works but the way it's branches touch the ends of the frame hurt the shot. I might also increase contrast just a tad. The bottom shot, I can see what you were going for. I have also seem situations like this where the illuminated objects are more interesting than the illuminator. (Sort of like taking shots of the gasping crowd instead of the thing that made them do that!) But they're just so hard to get the right amount of subtlety, composition, and feeling... It takes a very good day to make it work. I do like the bottom part, but feel the sky ruins the feeling.

    Anyways ...

thanks for your input, the tree has this stupid pole on the left side, i tried hard to stay away, but at the cost of a few branches, the right got cut off from the downsizeing crop to load the picture, the real crop version is not chopped, i think its the transfer to the site that does it,but its all or nothing right.

I sort of like the first image but if there was a pole causing problems they you really need to find a different tree to get the best image.

I also like the spare composition-a good use of a cloudless sky.
    No, I DON'T need that.
