Wondering what you all think of this image? this is full frame and it obviously needs a crop to eliminate the top right branch thats lit up. but i wanted to see what all you would do with this shot, or what thoughts you have on it. I know what i wanted it to seem like was happening in the shot just not sure i conveyed it.

I really like the idea. On my screen I cannot tell that the figure is in 'woods'.
The vertical on the left looks like a stain or something rather than a tree trunk.
The figure itself is great but the bg is too indistinct to know it is woods.

i did lighten it some, can you not see the fern in the lower left and the plants and tree off to the right?

anyone else able to see the foreground? if not i'll lighten it more and repost it here.

This looks almost like a 3d animation. love the feel of this, very whimsical and surreal.

I see the fern on the left just fine

I see them but they are very dark.
Have had this happen with other pics so one of these days I'll stop delaying the monitor calibration. I think my colors are fine but not brightness.

Thanks for commenting everyone. The shot was taken at our botanical gardens (at night) which has a frabel glass exhibit right now. the man is actually made out of glass!

i was hoping the shot would come across as kind of catching a glimpse of an alien or weird creature out in the middle of nowhere at night. the hard part was i had to pop my flash to light up any of the foreground (im still pretty new to using flash so it took some playing around).

It worked! Good job. I see the fern, etc., and yes, that branch needs some TLC.
