Roger, i like the version without the blue ring. I really like the glow of light on the table around the glass. Mr Yuck has a good point in making sure you have the glass clean, as the dirty portion visible is not pleasing . I think lighting up the bottom area of the glass would further improve the overall image. Good to see you still playing with your Christmas toys:thumbsup:
Well done. Perhaps if you used a cleaner jar/glass it would be better?
Thanks for your time - this was a gift from my daughter when she was little
Mr Yuck - I cleaned it with a damp cloth with glass cleaner to get rid of finger prints... The glass was spotless on both sides, what your seeing is imperfections in the glass, it has this sort of wobbly rough surface, with dimples... and you can see it even in daylight but not quite so bad.
Gary - Tried to light up the bottom but it has black sand in the bottom which just seemed to absorb light and the reflections of the glass look wrong in the shots I took. Will try it again though. I even put this on the kitchen floor to get a better reflection through the glass bottom but it just flares horribly.
Wife and daughter are getting a bit miffed with me playing at the moment as the flashes distract them while watching TV , even though the door is closed. When it gets warmer I'll move into the garage for peace and quiet.
Trog - I never do use that little brain cell running around in my head Or is it because I'm welsh and still learning english I will see what it looks like with it removed.
