    Make It Funky.

From a shoot I did in the last week. Comments and critique welcome. Suggestions cheerfully explored but please leave the editing to me.

That is fun all right but I think you have him awfully centered in the frame. Do you have any other looks?
    No, I DON'T need that.

Yes, but they're all more or less as centered as that. We were in a coffee house and the background, aside from this painting was. . . um, Yargh! Pink, peach, red and brown were the predominant colors. This is a crop from a portrait style shot of him standing in front of a painting on the wall which I then hit with a gaussian and a radial blur filter. It is for the back side of a CD cover so it will have to be square.

That's funny. I think you could almost do without the flare. It looks to fake. I like it. The background is perfect.

Love the colors. You certainly made it funky. I can almost year Greg arguing with Peter and Bobby.

I would think about cropping in super-close on his face. Play around. Get funky with it ... (*sigh*)

Looking at this again he needs to smile and show some teeth so you could some more bling there.

Now that would put the fun back in funk!
    No, I DON'T need that.

PTax glad you like it I think the colors work too!

Dr. R - Great suggestion! Here's a couple of versions I like. I don't have too much creative control with these which is why I left the first crop loose. I'm working with a designer on this project so I expect to see this run through a whole "floor routine" of changes before we end up with something everyone's happy with.

MB1 - I agree a beautiful smile :yesnod: , and he has one, would have been great here. I looked at the entire session and have about 3 true smiles for the whole shoot. He's got a vision for this project that apparently has nothing to do with smiling and more with looking cool and aloof. The three I did get were after lots of prying from me and none of them were chosen for final consideration by the designer or the client, so oh well.

    Thanks Greg,

The star burst on his glasses is actually a cheesy way of disguising a flash flare that was really there, I could have cloned it out but chose to go the other way with it to up the silly retro feel from the wig. I removed it on a few other edits just for comparison. Go figure, the designer picked this one.
