Re: Los Angeles Skyline
of the three I like the middle one the best but they are all three great!
All opinions expressed by this person are purely that, opinions which means she doesn't actually know anything about photography.

noob question:
when using long exposure, will stationary items (bank of america sign for example) be naturally blurry? can this be controlled? was the lower portion of the picture the main focus?
i've tried taking shots at night using different settings, never happy with the results and end up discarding them due to the blurriness...i guess the more i try-the more i'll learn, right?

First of all I was using a tripod. The weather that night was a bit cloudy and there was on and off rain. I had to sharpen it a bit with Photoshop. If it was a nice night, the pics could turn out even sharper....considering I was only using a kit lens (18-55 IS). I was focusing on the farthest building and was using wider DOF . I was experimenting on shutter speed (usually 16 seconds to 30 ) and aperture(F/16 to F/22)....until I get the type of effect I like. Yes... them more you take pic, the more you get better. I just started taking pics 2 months ago. And joining a group would also help a lot. I recently joined a group and learned a lot from veteran photographers.
They are all nice, but the second and third are better. The second is the best of the three, but both of the last two seem a bit out of focus. But they are good shots.
Beautiful! What time of the night were these taken? Where were the last two taken? Such a great vantage point!
I'm originally from Southern California, and am living in Texas. I'm taking a week-long trip out there end of March, and these shots made me even ore excited! Thanks!
