    Looking Up

I visited Battersea Power Station last week while it was open to the public and this is one result.
You may remember the flues of the station being featured on the cover of Pink Floyds "Animals" album. Thats right the pig suspended from two of the flues!
Comments and critique as usual welcome.

    Re: Looking Up

The airliner is a reminder of the story of the flying pig ...

The original Pink Floyd pig was designed by Roger Waters and built in December 1976 in preparation for shooting the cover of the Animals album. The 40 foot, helium- filled balloon was flown over Battersea Power Station on the first day's photo-shoot, with a marksman prepared to shoot the pig down if it broke free.

On the second day, the marksman wasn't present and the pig supposedly "broke free" (gaining a lot of press coverage) after a huge gust of wind. It disappeared from sight, and was spotted by airline pilots at 40,000 feet in the air. Flights at Heathrow Airport were cancelled as the huge inflatable pig flew through the path of aircraft, eastwards from Britain, over the English Channel, finally landing on a rural farm in Kent that night.

It reminds me more of the 9-11 attacks. But it would esp if the building was an office building.

I never saw that album's cover, but the story behind the title was interesting......

Love the shot especially getting the plane, and cloud to cooperate - how long did you wait?

    Re: Looking Up

    Thanks Everyone
It was not too difficult to get the plane in on the act as aircraft fly over or near the station by the minute. But I was lucky enough with the clouds and I was happy to get the plane entering a nice one.
So, Roger it happened fairly fast, not much hanging around.
Hope the eye operation went well. Today is it?

    Tom,

Thanks for the concern. It all seems in order, seeing the doc again tonight for a check up.
