Nice... but what kind of rocket? When I was in the Army, I spent two years as a section leader for Redeye, a shoulder-fired anti-aircraft missile which has long since been retired, so this weapon sort of interests me. And where was this taken?

I invite your casual attention to my family Photo Site
Looks like a guided weapon, left hand side of the photo looks like the wire spool?
Can't see the gyro unit, I guess that and the battery have been removed.
Also the IFF, assuming it was a model that had IFF.
I'd say it was an anti-tank weapon, or short range SAM.
It's not Redeye, Stinger, or AT-4, or TOW, or Javelin, or Swingfire, or Blowpipe.
Closest is SMAW, but the sight is wrong.
But given it's Navy day is seems Marines' weapon is most likely.
You've got really bad light on this, with the sun behind.
Looks like you had no fill-flash?
When I first saw it I thought he was at a ballgame and it was one of those t-shirt launchers they use during the seventh inning... But then I realized it was the real thing..
