    Hey,
I don't wish to be mean, but it kind of looks like you just accidentally let the camera off out the window while playing with the shutter. There's nothing really in this image that works for me, although I like the way the window frame is still inb focus.

Sorry, I don't like being harsh but I'd rather be honest

I agree with Chris . This pic isn't working for me. Just my humble opinion.

Chris and Nina... Hi and thanks for giving me your honest opinion. Here's the problem. This isn't a real pic. I put it together in ps out of parts of other photos and the window isnt real. But, I made a big boo boo. I was just playing so I worked on it at 25% instead of 100% so it has major problems. It basically sucks. Could you or anyone else help me out with some info. I'm thinking that my computer is also too dark even though I keep it calibrated, but a friend just told me that she can see all the places clearly where it is pieced together. To me those places look black and don't show at all. When I took the piece back into photoshop and full size, I see what she means. Does any of that show on your puter? Or does it look real, but just a boring shot? lol I need to know because other wise, everything I work on wont be right since I can't see it. doh.
    Thanks, Kit

I beg to differ... There is a clear potential in this pic. I PARTICULARLY like how the pic is divided into four sections, and how the largest of these sections contains a recognizable subject while the three others are fuzzy probably due to steam (?).

It feels homy and cozy (it's clearly wet ouside and warm inside).... It reminds me of wet winter nights in student residence in Vancouver!

    However...

I feel the pic would be stronger with a bit of perspective correction. I have posted one version here that I believe take care of this problem (is this a problem?).

(I hope you don't mind me playing! Let me know if you do!)

Let me know what you think.

This is just my 2 cents... I might be completely off tracks...

    Steph.

Ha Ha Ha... and I was wondering why the frame seemed broken at the edges!

Steph, that is exactly how I wanted it to look, like your description and your perspective is Ace! That looks much better. I have a bigger problem though, and maybe you can help. As you can see from what I just posted above, the pics a mess because i forgot to work in it full size so its like bits and pieces of it are showing ragged edges. Do you see them? To me, the places that are messed up just look dark and not noticible. If you take the pic into ps and lighten it a little with levels, you can see where I did all that faking of the window. lol but what I want to know is does it show in the final, since it's darker? If this makes no sense, let me know.. Not that I could make sense later either lol.

I've repaired the frame! I really think that your idea is worth pursuing. You should consider starting from scratch. I think that if you try to have the frame straight right at the beginning, it will make your job so much more easier.

    Cheers,

    Steph.

The more i look at this, the more i kinda like it... Reminds me of movies where you see out the window, and all you see is the red blinking MOTEL light that says " Motel: Vacancy" Kinda has that kind of feel to it. Or, when you wake up bleary eyed in the middle of the night and you look out the window.... I'll say this: Definitely unique, LoL.
Glad you fixed your frame up there... Good wood working skills!

Oh, the blue little squiggly ( top right hand side) looks like a Blue Neon Rooster to me... what was that?

    Re: Looking Out...

It is interesting how perceptions may be molded by the "presentation". You set this up by saying this was a shot from your hotel room. My first response was "Gee, here is a room just slightly above street level, on a fairly narrow street with some intrusive light invading your space. Only thing missing is the smell of stale cigarettes and the sound of an argument down the hall. Character.

You got me hook, line and sinker.

For that reason, a very cool image.
