    Looking down the ladder.

Ok, I'd like your thoughts on the picture, but I'd also like to know if it looks better horizontal or vertical.

    ThankYou, Ben.

well, now that i do a side by side comparison, there is only one problem with the verticle, it makes the whole, top left side open and blank, but with the horizontal its at the bottom and you dont realy notice it, i dont know, i think both are ok.

I am not sure. They both have interest because of the serious perspective. I think I would go for the horizontal version because it's a less "obvious" choice and it creates an additional tension in the image.

The sky is washed out in some areas though. You might want to underexpose a little and use some fill flash to retrieve details in the shadows.

Man.... I don't even know what fill flash is, I'm very new at all this. I'm only 16 and I got my first SLR about 4 months ago.

Oh! I just mean use the flash lol... You can underexpose your picture to retrieve details in the sky by using a slower shutter speed than what the camera tells you. By doing so, you will loose details in the shadows but an hint of flash should compensate for this, resulting in a more even exposure.

Depending on your camera, you may be able to control the strenght of the flash. It worths to do some experimentation.

lol, a complicated term for "use the flash" eh? I could try that maybe. I don't think I'm going to go back to that spot though. I was just taking a bunch of pictures not really going for anything ya know?

Well "fill flash" refers to the use of flash to "fill" shadows and retrieve details by opposition to using the flash as the main lighting source. But hey, in the end, it's all about producing the picture.
