    looking for constructive feedback

    Hi all,

I'm new to these forums at photographyreview.com (and photography in general). I've only been taking pictures for a little while (have been reading a lot while I was waiting for my camera to arrive though ... and it finally did last week) I enjoy taking pictures a lot and would like to hear your thoughts about them and what I could do to improve my picture-taking.

    Looking forward to your feedback..

PS: I hope the images will show up in the message (I can't see them in the "preview post")..

    Re: looking for constructive feedback

number 2 is pretty good..a nice composition although since your using a wide aperture you should pay attention to whats behind your subject to better showcase it. The brightness of the background does not help isolate your subject in my opinion. a slight move to the left might have given you that darker area behind which might have been better..?.. Welcome and try to post one picture per thread , unless its variations of the same pic.
Please ask to edit photos and I'll do the same!
    Thx, Rod

Hi rod, Thanks for the feedback. I see what you mean. The light background is a bit distracting indeed. Perhaps if it was out of focus a bit more it would have been sufficient also. I wasn't aware of the one picture rule, sorry.

1 and 5 don't have enough depth of field.
I agree with Rod on the second one.
Yes, please only post one per critique or two or three if they are related shots.
Each shot has its benefits and deficits and its hard to critique 5 at a time.

I like the composition and light of your last image the best of this set. However I think you should have focused on the barb that is just behind your focal spot.
    No, I DON'T need that.
