    Look out below!

I was out driving on Monday and spotted this red-tailed hawk flying around. I stopped the car and got lucky. Any comments?

Shot using Canon EOS 20D with EF 400mm f/5.6L

    Thanks,

    Greg

    That is one sweet capture.
Good timing and great composition considering the speed of the hawk. I'm always amazed at these pictures because I'm always focused on stationary objects. ;)
    Nice job!

Very nice shot Greg. The hawk looks very focused on its landing spot, I would've love to see the top of its wings but I'm not complaining. It's hard enough to shoot something traveling that fast so nicely.

    good job.

Great shot. Good timing with the shutter and good full copmosition. The focusing seems a tad soft for me, but still a great shot!

Great colors too by the way!

    Hello Greg,

Good shot. I like your dof and the warm sunlight on the wings of the hawk. Obviously,I wish that the wings werent cut but I don't feel like I can really complain about this aspect considering that I would certainly not be able to get such a shot. The frame would be empty by the time I'd be set to shoot.

Great shot. Like the others said, its a disappointment the wings were cut off, but an amazing and beautiful photo nonetheless. great colors, good DOF, fairly good sharpness (I would see what an unsharp mask can do if you haven't tried that already) But I love this shot. Your bird shots are amazing. In the spring when I start shooting wildlife, if I even come close to matching the quality of these shots, then I'll be ecstatic. Again, amazing shots.
