    Lonely Skiff Rower

One of the first shots with the new camera. Didn't have a tripod and only a little light to play with, but real sharpness isn't that important with this picture, is it?

I like the color and texture, and I think you are right about "tack sharpness" not being crucial in this shot. I'm not sure if I like the subject so centered though. Since the pwoerboat wake is an important element, I think I might like to see some of the left and bottom cropped out (for comparison) leaving him toward the lower left corner, but not jammed in the corner (maybe half of what's there).

I agree with jetrim on crop though I don't feel its critical as this is a good image anyway.
    Just might be stronger.
Looks like he's trying to outrace those wake waves.
I do wish that dark wave or shadow wasn't sticking out of the left side of his head.
If you're better at cloning than I, you might be able to get rid of it.

    Thanks for your comment!

    Like so?

I did not crop it that way in the first place because I liked how the water reflections fade out into the shadow on the left hand side. Also, the rower does not look quite as lonely anymore, does he?

Thanks Frog, for commenting. I honestly did not notice the black shadow sticking to his head before, but you are right, of course. It is caused by the waves he left with his oar. The picture looked odd without it to any rower, I guess. Unfortunately, I only have this one shoot. Next time, I'll put the camera into "continues shooting" mode so that I have more to choose from. Had he went a bit further, the "glueing" effect would have been avoided.
