I like the simplicity of this image but the light is harsh to look at.

Nice enough composition but I think you could have exposed correctly to hold the detail in the lamp and the background still would be black.

Nice composition though I think maybe a bit too much black space on right. Or maybe it's that the light should be a bit to the right, I may be wrong. I think being able to see a bit more of the light, as in one more notch up of exposure would be nice.
