I like it, however it doesn't look lonely to me.

I like it GB, I honestly can't think of a critique or a way to making it better. Maybe there's a bit of a brown cast, but that's about it.

I think I would have like it even better if you had composed the subject at the left third and included more of that lowest boat to the right. Your mirror image capture of the mast is really cool!

Love this shot, the fog is just too cool. It seems like the mast extends too high but I have a small monitor and have to scroll to see all. I could see this pic framed and in a boat enthusiast's home.

    Re: Lonely Boat

Thanks guys. I drive by a marina area most every morning on the way to work. I can stop anytime I want and do photography if I don't mind getting to work 10 min later and just working that much more at the end of the day. On nice lighting mornings, I try to stop and take shots. This particular morning was special in that the fog created a bit of mystery ...

tayl, I guess it isn't all that lonely. Maybe independent.

Paula, I see what you mean. But I just felt that this particular subject (boat) needed to be the center of attention to make it work. Who knows..

d, I agree, that mask (and it's reflection) dictate what composition has to be here. Sort of robs one of artistic freedom, as cutting off the mask wouldn't work. I think things like this are part of the reason getting great boat shots are a lot harder to get than they look!

Liban, yeah does need a color tweak or two. Maybe I'll play with it and repost.

    Thanks too bwood.
