    Lonely

Is she too small in the frame or does it work?

Adamo, I think you found a great architectural element and made a compelling photo from it. It took me 5 seconds to notice the person, though. I saw it as an extra "fun" element - and I don' think that the photo would suffers with her in it, but just adds another factor. Nice.

    Re: Lonely

Images works well to my eye. She's fine. Part of me wants to work with lower left to enhance what looks like light reflected off water on to the wall simply to give that wall more character. The other part says "leave it be silly..." I might play with it a bit more to se what happens if the blacks were brought out a bit too.
    It's not about the camera....

    Re: Lonely

Well done Adamo. it's got good geometry and a very effective diagonal from top left to lower right.

    Re: Lonely

I saw her immediately and like this composition a lot. I think it's a very strong image, with catchy geometry and excellent composition. It may also have several sub photos created from crops, so try a few of those. The only issue I see with it is the brightness/sunstreaks on the bottom and left 'blocks', which steal my attention and also make the image seem hazy/shot through a window. If you could fix that somehow, without making it look processed, I think it would be a good thing!

    Re: Lonely

Thanks for the comments everyone! I agree about the “brightness/sunstreaks” on the bottom, it was a reflection from the adjacent building. I have tried several things to remove them or make them less apparent, but cannot figure out what works. Any suggestions are appreciated. Thanks again

Could be better if you could do some rotation adjustment. Overall, I think it works.

    Re: Lonely

    awesome geometric image

I like the light patterns on the wall, look like water reflections

the little woman in the middle make it more interesting

as for improvements ? hmm ... have you tried black and white and more contrast ?

I think the image is all about the geometric patterns

She is a tiny bit on the small side, but it's still a great shot. Well done.

    Re: Lonely

Curious as to whether this was a "right place, right time" shot, or did you have a friend go to that specific location. I really like the photograph. I agree with Armando that b/w conversion would be interesting.

    Re: Lonely

I don't know her, and to be honest, I was originally bummed when she stepped into my shot. I was interested in the pattern of the building. It wasn't until I started posting on this site and learning what makes good photographs that I went back to this one and cropped it and thought I might have something here. So I guess it was right place at the right time, and without knowing it. I'm glad you like it.

I have tried B&W, and for some reason it seems to come out flat, I have played with it so many times and have so many variations it is driving me crazy.

    Thanks again

    Re: Lonely

Adamo, this is very good. The geometry and patterns here are an excellent subject and in my opinion the woman in the shot is a huge added bonus. she gives us a sense of proportion as to how large this structure is and i like her position in the frame. It would be less interesting for me without her there.

My only suggestion would be to skew/straighten the vertical lines toward the left frame. The vertical lines are good at right frame but becasue of your camera angle it begins to distort the perspective towards the left. I think it can stay as it is, but can benefit from an adjustment.

    Well done!

I have been trying to apply some of the suggestions you gave and came on to post the updated version. I'm still struggling with the crop, please let me know what you think. Thanks again!

    Re: Lonely

I like the perspective adjustment but please go back to colour.
The hints of skintone on the person in the shot make a huge difference for me.

In just the right place too on the upper right 1/3.

I like the way that the architecture plays with your eyes a bit the more you look at it. Nice picture. Keep it up.
