    Lonely?

Taken over the weekend at Zoo Atlanta. Let me know what you think. Minor color adjustments and cropped in photoshop.

    Re: Lonely?

Different kind of shot. I dont know if it portrays loniliness or what, but he does seem isolated. I wish there was more DOF in the photo. The exposure is correct but the backlighting sort of spoils it a little cause there is so little detail on the main character. But the shape is good cause it shows his facial shape very nicely. I think a crop might work out better because the top of the photo is so bright in comparision to the ape and tree that it is somewhat hard to get a grip on what's going on. Perhaps a masking and selective adjustment might work too.

Thanks for the comments. I realize the there "should have been" a great DOF. I was going for a silhouette effect. I didn't have my flash with me that day either, since I was travelling light. Sadly, this is probably the best one of the day.

this is where digital comes in very handy. next time, take the photo, and realize that your sky is blown out via lcd preview. so dial down your exposure, and take another shot. then combine in photoshop.
