    London's Gherkin

Hi all .. a couple of photos of "The Gherkin" - a much photographed London landmark which is shaped like (you guessed it!) a gherkin. It's a large glass office building surrounded either by other large glass buildings, or by more traditional architecture. The trick with this is to find a new(ish) way of portraying it - this is my stab at it.

    Cheers

    Re: London's Gherkin

Mike, I like the top photo better, mainly because I like all the geometric shapes and patterns going on. I also like that the reflection in that one is NOT perfectly shaped, if that makes sense.

Both are really cool shots, regardless.

    Hi,

I really like both of these but I think the second shot is just great! Love the juxtaposition of older architecture in the foreground. It looks like London had a geodesic dome installed over the whole city from this perspective. I'll bet the traditional neighbors had fits when this was going up.

The top shot I like for it's abstract properties, and the second for the reasons CLKunst listed. IMO, neither is stonger, as both has it's own merits. Nice job capturing these.
