    A little digital spin..

Shot this pic of a mother and child with a point-n-shoot digital camera. Just turned the flash off and rotated the camera as it was exposing... interesting effect ???

It looks like you are looking at the world through the bottom of a glass a little. This technique has it's moments. It looks like the little boy was very entertained by the hole spin the camera business. I like that his smile is the most clearly communicated thing in this shot.

So this begs a question. Is it more correct to apply effects in pre or post processing?
I have tended to capture clean and mess about with after the clean shot has been safely stored. In-Camera tricks often don't lend to further processing, so if the distortion fails, its useless for rework. But then, maybe that's a viewpoint I don't fully understand yet, but an interesting question. HA anyone a suggestion as to the right or wrongs?

    Re: A little digital spin..

CL - yep the kid loved it. I guess the same effect can probably be done via PS or something (I haven't tried it) but this one came out pretty neat. Kizz, pre or post is probably a matter of taste. True you will mess up a lot if you try it on the camera, but with digital cameras, you don't lose much except a little battery life. Not like the old film days.
