    Little bit of NZ

Colours probably aren't to far from what I was seeing

    Re: Little bit of NZ

I really try to refrain from posting simple, non constructive statements like “WOW” and “I LIKE” but “WOW, I LIKE.” I’m sure there is someone who can comment on something and give you some constructive feedback and opinion on what they would do with the horizon, but I wouldn’t change a thing, especially if it reflects the colors you saw and the emotions you had when you took it. I particularly like the green rolling landscape with the meandering river with the reflection. The sheep even seem perfectly placed. Are they cardboard cutouts you placed in the field? Even the fence draws my attention. Well done!

    Re: Little bit of NZ

Hmm. If this is real, a nice catch! My only concern is, as someone famous once said, it's not what the subject really looked like but it's how it looks photographed, and I think this one looks processed. The colors just seem over-saturated to me, and the stream seems to have processing artifacts. It is sad if this is not processed but just looks like it is.

Regarding the shot, it's very good. I really like the "S" stream and the way the lambs are following it. It has a Wizard of Oz feeling.

Matter of fact ... This would be good source image for a post processing expt where you replace the distant trees with an emerald castle.

Fascinating image. When it first came up I too thought that it was an over-processed HDR. I actually care less whether it is "real" or not as the mind's eye (of the photographer) is more important than the camera's eye. If however there are artifacts that would be a problem. At any rate, I would love to see this larger.

    Re: Little bit of NZ

    Thanks Adamo
Greg this was taken just after some heavy rains and the colors were pretty much as you see here although as you noticed there was a bit of processing involved to get it to this stage from the image taken, agreed it does look a little fairytale-ish but hey thats what caught my attention. Lol emerald castle cool idea.
Thanks Jeff, the artifacts in the creek are due to the fact that thats not normally a creek just a fortuitous run off of the previous heavy rain, that looked cool at the time. The grass in the water does make it look a little strange.

A very lovely scene and yes fairy tale looking. I like the composition with the road starting in the lower left and winding through the shot. It does look a bit over sharpened. Nice shot Pete.

I agree that they look a bit over saturated. It keeps pulling my eyes up at the sky when I really want to look at the beautiful stream. Not sure if you cropped out more of the sky it might let you focus on the land more. Don't get me wrong I think it is a wonderful shot.

Nice one, a little oversaturated. Looking forward to moving there in a couple of years
