    Lion in Pullman Square

I like this, but it was a snapshot, I didn't even really take the time to set it up to my eye, just "shot from the hip".

Given the circumstances, I think it worked out well.

Nice snap, I'd crop the shot just under the truck to make the Chow Chow (I think) stand out. S

I tried that when I initially cropped it, but it didn't look right, so I cropped it where its at.

I guess so, probably an issue with focus when he gets up too close?, the lighting is also very good. S

Looks soft like there is some camera induced blur or the focus is off.
    No, I DON'T need that.

    Re: Lion in Pullman Square

It was pretty dark, I shot with ISO at 400 but cropped the **** out of the origional. Shot it with a 50mm from about fifty feet away, and just pointed the lens in the general direction. I had been annoying my friends, so I tried to tone down the avid photographer appeal. But it didn't help much that I had my D80 strapped to my chest.

Here is the original so you can see what I was working with. I'm relatively new, sort of, so any help would be great.

It's hit or miss with these quick snaps, and with little light even harder. I think you did a good job with what you had. S

    Re: Lion in Pullman Square

I like the original shot (no crop). It has that feeling of late night action/energy you would feel at a bus stop. I would simply rotate it a little to get right of the tilt and call it a success.
