    Lincoln Monument

Hey everybody. My girlfriend and I just got back from a trip to New York and Washington D.C. The weather was terrible but it is always fun to go back to 2 of my former homes and see friend and family. I love these cities and we got a few really fun shots. Here is an HDR that turned out well. Let me know what you think.

Compositionally, the sky seems predominant, however the extreme wide angle seem to work well here, as it seems thee is some "gathering light" right above the monument. It think it is nice to capture a nice expanse of lawn in front of the monument without people in it. I am not sure that I like the very bright area right above the memorial - my eye is drawn to it ...however, considering the circumstances, not sure how that could be avoided. Nice.

I like it. for me, it's hard to find shots of monuments like these that i like. this one does it for me. i like the angle and vantage point you took this from. the skies obviously are nice and dramatic. i think it works.

A properly done HDR IMHO, not the over-processed crap that a lot of people put out. Nicely done!

The HDR was well done, it didn't look HDR to me, and thats the point!

But, I don't like the placement of the building, its the subject but its centered and very small, most distracting is the perspective distortion of the building.
