    Lilies - need suggestions please.

Any comments and suggestions greatly appreciated. I don't know how long these flowers will last and I want to make the most of them. Any suggestions on composition or lighting would be great.

give the image abotu 20 more pixels of black at the bottom, it feels unbalanced.

    Thanks for the suggestion Bonzerbarplayer.
    Thanks for the comment Rod.
    Thanks for your imput Skip.

Here is an edited version with more space at the bottom for comparison. I also cropped the same amount of space off of the top, that I added to the bottom to keep the 2:3 aspect ratio.

Odd but in this situation I think I would dead center it, so that there's equal distance between the top and bottom. I wish there was a tad more lighting/brightness in certain areas.. the vase for one, and maybe the upper leaves. I really like your 'framing' here btw

Very pretty! I love lilies. I think it might be nice if you took the photo from a little lower angle, maybe to get a little more fullness out of the front flower. I like the lighting, it makes your eyes wander over everything.

The best suggestion is a 16x20 print, framed and matted and sent to me!

This is beautiful. I like the second one better and if I was being a bit nit picky I'd like to see more light on some of the leaves. They are a bit dark for me.
    It's not blurry. It's bokeh.

Thanks for all the feedback and ideas everyone. Here is another shot I took this morning. I'm not sure I like it centered though. To me it makes it look too much like it's floating. What do you think?

The last image is really good.I like that you have given to the vase some more dimension.

    Skinny.

I agree that it does look like it's floating.

Here's a suggestion - Try the shot using some sort of reflecting panel, where the vase reflects on a thin, reflective base. I think a mirror would be too much but I don't know off the top of my head what material to use. I think it might be a great photo. Could use the material for other stuff too.

You could also try putting the vase in a wide water holding cup-like thing, the bottom lip out of the frame, then PS out the far end so that you can't see the far lip.

Hey, just found the link someone shot me on creating your own reflective surface.

Jeta, do you want Mike to cut 4" off, the top or bottom, to get it down to the 16 X 20 aspect?

I'm not going to critique because I'm not into this kind of photography, but I do think it's quite dazzling.
