    Lil Buffalo Panorama

What can I do to make this more appeasing to the eye?

Scaled down a LOT and compressed down to 300 kbs of quality out of 10 mb.. so yeah that's why the res is so awful.

3 Photos stitched in cs3 using photomerge.
    Canon sx100
    -1 exposure compensation
    f/8
    1/13
    80 iso
    6 mm of focal length
    pattern metering

I just got into doing panoramas, does anyone have any tips that can make them *pop*?

The only thing I can think of is adding a blue sky. That would do a lot on its own, maybe some other slight color variations - I cant really put my finger on anything else right now, looks good.

This is a hard, dark and brutal photo. It almost looks like a prison landscape. Even the water looks muddy.

I think Anbesol pretty much summed it up. I like the pano aspect of it.

I agree with Dylan it is to centered. You might should have panned right placing the falls on the left and letting the water flow left to right through the picture. I really like the dark and ominous feel. It makes me think of the movie Deleverance with Bert Reynolds. Anytime you can create mood in an image you have taken it a level higher. Nice work. It's really good.

    Re: Lil Buffalo Panorama

I agree with you guys, this is straight off the cam and even the cropping is at a minimum, it's difficult to do HDR panos on those slippy rocks ! I hate adding artificial skies, mostly because everyone up here where I try to sell these knows that clouds from arizona aren't like the clouds here. Hehe. The blue might work though, I'll paint that in and see what happens. I also agree with the cropping, perhaps I'll add some fill light to increase the overall gleam of the region, though I also don't like doing that because it takes away from the resolution so maybe I'll just give it a short run through cs3 and up the levels, do a crop, add a sky.

    Cheers!

The colors need to get punched up somehow. Its just too drab I think the way it is now, too cold. Composition is lovely though.

    Re: Lil Buffalo Panorama

I would like to have seen more of the water in this pano. As mentioned, the falls is too centered. i think cropping from the left side will help composition. Bring up the overall levels somewhat and color saturation.
When doing panos, you should have the camera set in manual and expose the same for the entire series of shots. WB should also be set to something like "Sunny" or "cloudy" but never Auto as you will have different color cast in each image to be stitched.
    Did you use a tripod?
I notice the shtter speed at 1/13 which would be very slow to hand hold.
    Not bad,
please do not edit and repost my photos

I used the camera's photo stitching mode for this one, I find it does a good job of stitching afterwards in PS but you don't get to edit the settings very much, nope, no tripod couldn't with the slippery rocks i was on but will try to find a better spot next time.
