Very nicely done. It looks like it belongs in a set of props for a toy railroad set. Thats the effect. I really like the shot and can only suggest doing a series with this bench at different times of the year. I would also suggest playing with the proportion of the frame the defocussed areas constitute.

thanks guys. thats exactly the effect that this is going for. it is done with a simulated tilt/shift lens technique in photoshop. you use the gradiant tool in a quick mask to select the area and then use the lens blur filter. it takes a little time to get the selection just right, but once it's done it really is a neat trick on the eyes.
i really love the idea of a series on this bench, but unfortunately it would consist of one look.....im in phoenix, az where its just hot or less hot all year long.
I think there is far to much blur in the photo it makes me focus on the bench i dont understand why there is nothing happening there !. I understand the concept and appreciate all the good work put in in photoshop but image it is not my cup of tea.
Ha ha.. Yeah, really looks like a model or a toy ! The earth tones are different. The intense blur is OK with me, but perhaps if there was somethings special about the bench.. Perhaps a couple kissing, or a fellow kicked out sideways sleeping.
