    Lifestyle shots....

Some of you may have seen my earlier shots attempting lifestyle photos...anyhow...I took all of your constructive feedback into consideration and did a reshoot (WITH A NEW MODEL ;-) ) ....

I wanted to get feedback on them, as I feel I have done a job well done :-P and also confirm these would indeed fall into a lifestyle shot!

    Re: Lifestyle shots....

    Hello,

I think that the first one is truly excellent, great ligthing, excellent dof, nice expression. Everything fall into place so to speak.

The second one as the same quality as far as lighting goes but I am distracted by the tilt and the fact that one of her shoulder/arm is touching the edge of the frame while the other isn't.

The third one is the weakest as I see it. I like your color rendition but I don't feel comfortable with her croped feet. Also, I think that I would have kept a shallower dof as you have used for the first two.

    regards

    Seb

Hey Seb...thanks for the feedback...I do see what you're saying about the second photo...I'm gonna toss that one if I can't fix it in PS. Regarding the third..I guess I like the strong colors of the background but I could see how it would be improved with a shallower DOF. Thanks!

Your comments are not inaccurate Seb, but consider that the third one has the most appropriate background and more importantly the best lighting around the eyes...as in no shadows under the eyes or "bags" as in the first and second. A reflector is one approach to handling that problem.

The "life style" concept has been nailed perfectly with the face, look, expression and clothes. Sharpness and skin colouring etc. are handled excellently as well.

Realworld, I haven't seen the other posts you mentioned so I don't know from where you came (photographically). But let me tell you that that first image is fantastic!

I'm speaking from the gut and that image tells me a lot about the young lady. More so than the other two (which, BTW, seem too posed/stilted).

Rules are great as guidelines. Go with what gives the greatest impact or what gives you the greatest satisfaction.

    Good going

You make interesting points. I must admit that I haven't seen it that way.

    Re: Lifestyle shots....

In addition to all that's been said...I was wondering why no one mentioned the tips of the model's shoes in third photo...

Can't really add anything to what's been said (actually I learned from it) but i do believe the tips of the shoes are somewhat of a problem!

but i must say, i like the mood!

    Cheers,
    Marc

Edit: Scratch that comment misread you're reply Seb....sorry!!

    Re: Lifestyle shots....

The 1st one is the most appealing to me. Love the city in the background and she has a very easy going, inviting and gorgeous expression to her.

The 2nd one is a bit too tilted and the 3rd lacks something of a focus (just too busy) for my liking.
