    Life amongst the daisies

    I decided it was time to try some close up work. I probably shot a hundred of some lillies and did get some sharp parts but am going to have to try smaller than f/11 to get more dof. I kind of like this one. What do you think?

    Frog, I like this too. Sharp with deep rich color and texture. I only keep thinking I would like to see the whole lower petal, but I think it works like this.
    The filtered effect on the last one is very interesting. I really like the result. . .could do a whole flower show in that style

    I think the f11 of the first one brought in a bit too many details in the background. Two many white spots, too. Perhaps get closer and open up?

    Thanks, Gary! I usually hate chopped petals but didn't have much choice for this since I was practicing my close-up skills. Never had lilys in my garden before and they're much larger than my other flowers. Have learned they're stargazers.

    Don, I actually know what you mean. They have to be pretty special to stand out in the crowd.
