This very good and very interesting and could be great. I really need to see more on the right hand side where there seems to be someone asleep and also around the artist. I'm sure a little more detail can be extracted in these areas. I dont think it needs much though.. I would prefer if the picture resting on the ground was not cut off.
It's an excellent capture in any mans language.

    Hi Alex,
I agree with Tom about the darkness of the shot. It reflects well the different walks of life in Hong Kong. Nice shot!

    Alex,

Interesting composition and a nice strong contrast. I don't know if I would've included so much empty space in the top portion of the picture, but it's an interesting take.

    Nice shot and good eye,

Good shot Alex. I agree that it's a bit too dark in the shadows but I still like the way you composed it. I like how one dude is working while the other is taking a break. perhaps it's a 24hr operation or he's just taking a nap from the busy world around him. I also see Bin Ladin's portrait in the shadows which adds a bit of mystery to this shot.

    Re: Life

Thanks all for your reply and valuable comments.

Yeah, as Tom and Jared said, the photo will be much improved if I shot "down" a little bit to capture more on the foreground and less on the top. But the details on the right hand side is deliberately left out to create a stark contrast with those at the back during post-processing. The photo, however, is taken off viewfinder at the hip level to avoid disturbance.

So noahyay, flash for me is something not really good as it would be too intrusive.

Thanks again for your comments and suggestions.

    Cheers,

    Alex

Awesome shot, great composition. I agree with them about the darkness of the picture. Other than that, you have a great eye for photography. Keep it up!

    Re: Life

It's a shame that the highlights on the top left has taken off some attention from me while trying to see whats happening at the 2nd half(bottom) of the pic ... Good attempt tho for capturing other walk of life ...
