    Cool Liberty 1805 B/W

Interested in critique of the B/W effect.Nothing fancy. Lewis and Clark liberty nickel.
Just testing B/W mode of the camera.
    The lense used was a Nikkor 50mm 1.8D @ F/6.3.
    Thanks,
    Rick

I am willing to bet that the coin is worth more than your camera =)

I think your B/W looks good. Not too contrasty and no colour cast to it. Better than my conversions for sure =)

    Re: Liberty 1805 B/W

Well, this particuliar image is too contrasty for my taste. The light area of the coin is very bright while the darker areas are without detail. Sometimes i like that effect, but here I'm not feeling it works well. That is not to say that your camera does not do b&w well, but merely a lighting/exposure condition of the actual set up of the subject.
