    leafs/shadows

I took this spring just to see what it would look like and liked it more than I thought I would.
I will have plenty of opportunity to re-take it.
    What would you do different?
    Thanks for any advice.

Wow, I love the background. Put a hook on it and hang it on the wall.

Ty, Greg! The background is our house wall.....yes we live in a cement house.
I was standing under the large elm.
I believe I have one cropped which isn't so square.

    I also can't believe I said 'leafs'.

On my monitor the leaves seem a little out of focus. I'm thinking a shot like this would really benefit from extremely sharp edges on the leaves.

Hard to recapture that sky though. Good stuff.

    Re: leafs/shadows

The best ideas are the simple ones! I think this is well worth a reshoot to keep it all sharp and also to simplify a little the leaf portion. It's the kind of pic that makes me want to go find a wall and try it myself!

    Cheers

Hey Frog - Nice shot. There's something very 3-D about it. The background makes it seem like I'm lying on the grass starring at the sky. Like a lazy day view.

It could be a tad sharper. I would also do a little cropping, perhaps cropping out the bottom negative space below the lowest leaf. If you want me to crop it and post it to better explain what I mean, let me know - I dont like to crop an image w/o knowing if the person doesnt mind.

    Re: leafs/shadows

    Thankyou, everyone!
Your points are well taken and as I suspected.
I'll probably have to wait until next year to re-take it as the leaves are dropping fast. I don't think bare branches will have the same effect but I'll keep an eye out on sunny days..

GB, thankyou for the offer but I actually have several crops of this. You're right about the bottom area.
