    Leading or leaning?
The problem with using the 8mm lens to get the spire in is the obvious distortion.

Any suggestions for making an image like this work with extreme wide angle appreciated.

I would prefer it was leaning less - there are some Photoshop tools that could be used to help - adaptive wide angle (I think)....maybe also crop a little bit of the tree, because it leans the most.

Paul, you may be able to fix that distortion in PS with their lens distortion tool. Try auto first, and/or manual afterward.
