    Laura Brehm

I normally don't like photos of people, but this girl wanted me to shoot for her music page on myspace. Shes extremely talented for a 16 year old musician. hit it up at myspace.com/laurabrehmmusic if youd like. these are the best from the shoot i feel.

I don't want it, I just need it...to breath ...to feel ...to know I'm alive.

The only one I really like is #3. I just don't like the location on #1 and #2. And #4 seems busy. The composition is real good on #3, but the focus does seem soft...

    Re: Laura Brehm

    I disagree.

#1 has a great mood to it, and I like the way it is lit in the foreground. You probably could have worked on a couple different poses, however, like one with her crouching and touching the pavement with one hand. Car in the background with tail lights (and its reflection near her thigh) needs to be cloned out. In fact, clone out all the vehicles in the background. They are distracting.

#2 I love the motion of the people in the background and isolation of color on your subject, but your subject needs to hold absolutely still for a shot like this as well as using a tripod (in case you didn't). Her face is slightly unfocused which tends to distract from the overall value of the photo. Also, she needs to move away from the corner of the brick about a foot toward the camera, as she looks uncomfortable sitting on the corner. And last of all, do not cut off her feet.

#3 This photo would have worked great if it had not been for a) an unfocused subject, b) lack of contrast on the subject, and c) the distracting blob on the upper left corner and the utility pole on the the upper right hand corner. A puffy, cloudy in the sky for the background would have done wonders for this shot. But your camera angle here is good.

You certainly have a few great ideas for her photos, but you need to think about how to properly execute them to make them more effective.

    Hope that helps.

hey, that second one (leaning on the fence) was not there when I replied!!

Anyway, not sure I'd want to pose my subject next to a sewer pipe for the obvious reason of what a sewer pipe conveys. And I don't mind chain link fences if they're somehow creatively incorporated into the shot, but here I don't think it does your subject justice.

I'm just now listening to her. She's got a real nice voice. Good harmonies. Easy to listen to. I like.

    Re: Laura Brehm

Well for whatever reason i was unable to listen to her music, but had a look at the space before commenting...

#1 does have potential, the bg is somewhat distracting, and you could have benefited from a different angle

#2 is by far the best, however, some creative manipulation to remove the word sewer would be better seeing as it is derogatory and this would not be nice would it?? but it is the image that best expresses the Alternative lifestyle (again not so sure about her music but that's what i felt) Some color tweaking might be helpful... but i like it the way it is

#3 also falls into the category of very nicely done since it fits the artist and her statement about how the world changes ("riding the tides of change" i believe it was)... the "fixes" mentioned i agree with..

#4 I would not use at all... sorry, but i just dont like it... i don't know what you are reflecting off, although i would say water seeing the other shots.... it is all fuzzy and out of focus and bothers...not too flattering to the artist.... and the green blob is about to attack her (as was mentioned )

2-3 are the ones that best express the artist as she seems to be..... something along those lines would be in order!

    Nice effort, cheers
