    Last Hunt At Kumeyaay

    Hi Folks,

We have had such beautiful sunsets here of late in San Diego. Very pink skies. This is a great white egret, last light of day making one last hunt for the day; pink sky reflecting off the surface of Lake Kumeyaay, within Mission Trails Regional Park. Visit us on Facebook, the non-profit page.

Very, very cool. I honestly like it as is.

Egrets are generally great to work with. Now cranes... they can be flaky.

Thanks, Dray. Really appreciate the comments. This fellow can be seen most days along the shoreline. Usually, he will not let people get anywhere near, but on this occasion, for some reason I was able to get almost right on top of him. Thankfully.

    Again, thanks.

    Love the mirror-still water.

Awesome catch! The reflection is almost perfect and love the added touch of the leaves in the reflections too.

Lovely shot .. the foliage bottom left is important for the composition and it is just right. I would be inclined maybe to slightly lighten the face, especially around the eye - not a lot, just enough to minimise the eye being lost in shadow (although I appreciate that a full res version may not need this).

The pink colour is very evocative.

    Cheers

Love this pic, there's almost something medieval Japanese about it.

I can't believe that this picture is really wonderful.
