I think it would work if it were a bit left of center, showing more of the bush it's on, but you'd still have the depth-of-field effect in the background. More of that one empty bush might emphasize the "loneliness" of the berry.

My only nitpick is that dark line in the top right corner.
I would crop from the top to eliminate it and enhance the centering of the berry.
Allow the same distance from the prominent bud that is nearly in focus as you have distance from the bottom of hte frame to the branch.
The rule of thirds is really a guideline, sometimes (like this) it is OK to centre the subject.
There are strong diagonals in the branches and the oof background, that's the compositional theme to me. And then the berry interrupts the flow of the eye with that splash of colour.
