PC, as for the top shot, I think the positioning of the sailboats is just right for the shot. The pier splits 'em real nice. I like the comp. As for the bottom, I think if you cropped just below the rock that's in focus, you'd really have yourself a great shot. That foreground rock dominates too much for me--it upsets the balance, if you know what I mean.
