I love reflections in water they add so much to a photo.

A minor critique is the paper floating in the water near the ladder, it took me a while to spot it but once spotted I could not stop focusing on it. But saying that it doesn't ruin the photo for me, perhaps a retake without would be the perfect photo?

Another item that I find distracting is that my focus is led into the corner and then up to the blue rope/cable and what looks like an electric switch and then the blue and white thing tucked into the beams. Again they don't ruin it but it could possibly be better without them.

But after saying all that I still like it.

I also like this very much. Had the ladder been any other colour I dont think it would have worked. The paper, as Roger pointed out, does no favours, but perhaps with a careful bit of photoshopping you might be able to wave bye bye to it.

Thanks Roger & Tom...you know, I feel like a big dummy. It didn't register that was a piece of paper or something in the water...I guess that will teach me to look a little closer, eh?
Thanks for the comments and the photoshop suggestion!

    Re: Ladder

    Hi Emily,

I just wanted to chime in to tell you that I really like your photo. The colors of the wood ladder and water go well with the other composition elements. I like how the reflection of the ladder distorts as I follow it down the image. The paper doesn't bother me much either.

My only recommendation would be to crop off some of the bottom (1/5th ??). For me, it doesn't add much to the overall presentation.

    Best regards,
    Tim

Thanks Tim. I'd actually thought to crop it a bit more on the bottom...about where the white "arrow" is...heh. I appreciate your comments on this.
