    Kiwi Fruit

    Hello.
I took a slice of kiwi and stuck it on a mirror (the lighting was the best--and it produced great colour without any photoshopping)..
    thanks for your input.

Nice work, but your image looks a little soft on my monitor. I can almost taste the fruit.

Too bad all the people who know how to run this country are busy running taxicabs or cutting hair.

I agree that it's a bit soft. With shots like this, they're more technically challenging then they first appear - with such as narrow DOF on macro shots you have to stabilize the subject and camera, consider the background and lighting, etc. This one is close but could use better focus and/or DOF, but could also have some camera shake. Anyway, nice color, subject, and lighting.

Thanks so much.. I don't think I realized the quite visible camera shake until you commented on it. I just got my new camera set up (XTi and EF-S 60mm) for X-mas. I'm going to really pay attention to my shakey hand from now on.

Nice capture and I like the idea you have taken to use the mirror to help with the overall lighting of your subject, I think that the lighting works well.

It reminds me of a post I made a couple of years ago

I received similar comments concerning narrow DOF, also from GB interestingly enough (who on the post I have linked to, provided one of the most in depth critiques I have ever received on the forum).

Thanks for sharing and keep them coming!

Camera shake? This was hand held? I'm impressed.

How do you like the XTi? I bought mine in October, stepping up from the Rebel. I love it.

Ha... I'd forgot about that one Herriot... I guess I luv to play with CorelDraw.

PS - Handheld? I agree with CF, that's incredible considering! I'd take a breather and get a tripod though
