    The Kissing Tree

    Hi All,

It's been a long time since I've had anything fun to submit or much time to comment although I come by and look in often. Here's a funny little face I found in a tree at the park the other day and it made me think I should share.

Comments and Critiques welcomed. Suggestions cheerfully explored but leave the editing to me!

Very interesting Cindy but I feel you have cropped this in such a way that I am now missing a portion from the bottom. The inclusion of the "missing part" with a more portrait shape might provide an even more interesting result.

I have a total lack of respect for anything connected with society, except that which makes the roads safer, the beer stronger, the food cheaper, and the old men and old women warmer in the winter and happier in the summer. Brendan Behan

I like the fine detail in the bark toward the centre, but agree that it has an awkwardness to the crop. I also find the V shape at the top distracting.

BTW, I see a squirrel's face morphing from this tree and it's very cool and interesting to look at.

    Cheers,

    Re: The Kissing Tree

Well this one scares me and I don't see the squirrel though I'd feel better if I did. I'd like to see the entire trunk so I could get a better perspective. I'm thinking star wars - Chewbacca. S

    Re: The Kissing Tree

    Thanks for the interesting comments!

Tom - This is another one of my combined images I'll try doing this with a different image of the same knot and see if I can't give "the face" a little more breathing room.

Cathathome - Thanks for your comments! I was seeing the V as eyebrows for the face.

Shootme - Aww! I didn't mean to scare you. When my kids saw this they laughed like crazy and wanted to know where I found the monkey! Personally I see an orangoutang kind of smoochy face, I can see where you get Chewbacca but then I think he's really cute too, so I must just be weird.

    Re: The Kissing Tree

Well I tried a re-work from a different shot. I lost my smoochy orangoutang and it morphed more into a walrus or otter face. Better space around the face?
