I think this is great balck and white work. It's lovely that both Kim and her dog are looking right at the camera for this one. The dog could be saying 'Hurry up, I can't hold this pose forever'. Nicely blurred background makes both of them stand out and the white hair of the dog is nice and sharp and not blown out.

Excellent. There is a raw, harsh ugliness about the shot that comes off appealing and interesting. It comes from your composition in that you have centered the subject so dead on, and really have them standing out by the closeness and dof, and how she is holding the dog and her expression ( or lack of one , that is) this reminds me of a shot you posted a while back of a girl on a beach. i liked that one very much for the same reasons as i like this.
