Very spooky Frog. I think you should fade the ghost even more. Nice work.

This creeps me out! Overall, I love the concept. I also agree with Greg, I think that fading the ghost would have been more powerful. Nice Shot.

What a cool shot! I wouldn't touch it.
I've always been of the opinion that most shots, and especially scenics, are improved by the addition of a person in the scene. The extremely handsome man squatting in the snow really says something, and the softness of the scene and the falling snow really ad to that.
I can tell by the blurring of the man that this is software tomfoolery, but that doesnt' bother me either.
I think this is an exceptional shot.

Re: Dave's friend comes out for a visit...

I agree Greg which is why I said I wish I hadn't worn such a dark coat. It's a double exposure which I was using to get the ghost effect. I don't know how to fade it more so if you do, please let me know.
    Ty, tsanchez!
I'm glad you think I'm so handsome, Ron. There is very little post processing here, however. Mostly a desaturate and playing with levels until I got the best my eyes could see. The effect is due to a double exposure in which I was in the second shot.
Now I wonder if I could appear more faded if I'd put myself in the first, instead.
Thankyou too, Susan. Glad you like this one. It was an experiment that I really hoped would turn out but I'm thinking I need to try again. Just never know when it will be snowing.

Re: Dave's friend comes out for a visit...

I haven't done any double exposures for some time, and that was with film. I learned that the stronger part of a double exposure is always the second, and I would guess that digital works the same, so I believe you would be faded more if you had gotten into the first shot.
Cool technique. I'm learning more from this site than I can remember to use. Better start taking notes.

Re: Dave's friend comes out for a visit...

That makes sense, Ron. I've only done a few doubles before and usually just playing.
    Thankyou, Yoyo.

Does anyone know if its possible to fade the ghost more in editing?

If you have PhotoShop, you can use the dodge, smuge, blur or sponge tool. I don't do this much, so I'm not sure which one would be best, but PS gives you plenty of latitude to play around and change your mind before you hit save.

    Here's another thought, Frog:
I don't know if double exposing give you a layered effect in the final image (probably not), but if it does, you might be able to get what you want simply by pushing the front layer back in PhotoShop.

That is an awesome shot. I personally like the darker coat, gives it depth, if thats possible with a ghost!

I agree with Lori, mainly because she's a whole lot pritter then you.
Seriously, I agree that the dark coat ads some bit of contrast to a flat image.

Re: Dave's friend comes out for a visit...

I like this shot and think it is a great idea. This is the right type of setting to get the full efffect of what you are trying to do.To me you improved a lot over the last try at this but then the ghost effect is what you are going for here instead of you being in the same picture with youself. It makes me want to give it a try. Thanks for giving me something else to work on, Jeff

Ron, Lori, Jeff, gracie......thanks for looking and commenting.
I might play with it more in ps but there's chance of snow for the rest of the week so might be able to get back up there to try a reshoot. I would have shot more then but it was coming down hard, I had a steep hill to go down, and I was cccold.
