    Key Largo Bird Sanctuary

We were in Florida for cousin #2's wedding. We stayed a few days afterwards and went down to Key Largo, and visited a bird sanctuary there.

Just a few shots taken at the sanctuary. I played around with doing some conversions to black and white on a few of them... I don't normally do anything black and white, so input and any suggestions would be appreciated.

I think tou did well on the conversions. Also I think you picked the right ones to convert. I think they are all nice pictures and you did well with them. I really like the last one though, if I had to pick a favorite.

My favorite is 3. For me it has the most interest. My eye is drawn to the farthest, left-facing crane.."what is he looking at?"

Do you know what the smudge in the sky is? It doesn't detract anything, it actually gives a sort of counterweight, but since I don't know what it is it disturbs me as a viewer.

The composition is nice. Reminds me of Asian brush and ink drawings.

All your color images have a blue tint to them that I find displeasing which is a shame as those are the ones I am drawn to.

I think your reflection of the bird image and the boat in the water one have a ton of potential if you can ever get back there to experiment.

I didn't see any blue, is your monitor calibrated?

I'm pretty sure the smudge is a branch in the foreground. I think it distracts a bit, but I still like the shot, it reminds me of the asian prints as well.

I do think there may be a bit of a blue cast to them. There was a storm rolling in over the sun and I don't think my white balance was set for it.

The last shot, I like it a lot, but feel like it may need to be cropped in a bit.

Thanks everyone again for their input!
