Why do I hear Joni Mitchell in my head with these 2 shots?

Great composition, #1 does it more for me though. I like the way both lead me towards the horizon.

This was doesn't grab me as much as the first one. The bridge leads me to the buildings in the upper left corner, but the buildings don't hold my attention like they do in the first.

The tree reflection on the right is a nice addition in this version.

Too much railing in the 1st and not enough buildings in the 2nd --- BUT, you know what, its STILL a pretty picture. REAL pretty. Key Bridge in the blue of dawn -- makes me want to visit the place and see it in real life.

My feeling about this one is that it lacked foreground interest-even though the plants on the right do give some feeling of depth.

Oh well, I guess I will have to go back there the next cloudy windless morning.
    No, I DON'T need that.

I don't know but if its windless and everything is static, it might be worthwhile to try an hdr.
    They're good shots, don't have a preference.

Re: Key Bridge at Dawn #2

The second shot is super. I really like the exposure and the way you have kept the detail in the bridge and the buildings and the placement of the bridge in the picture frame is perfect. The blue colour is spectaclar. I assume the colour is post processed and would like to see what you started with to get such a deep rich colour. I disagree that the foreground lacks interest as the reflections are great and the dark foreground at
the left edge sort of vignettes the picture and brings you back to the bridge. If I have any suggestion, it would be to maybe crop out the trees on the extreme right, although maybe not?
    Anyways, great shot IMHO.

Beautiful, refer also comments other bridge post. I like this the best, but probably would have cropped to the left more to the tower to really make the bridge more pronounced. S

Not a lot of post processing for any of my images.

There is a very short time pre-dawn where you get those great blues. They are stronger on overcast days but only last for a short time before everything lightens up.

All a photographer has to do is get up crazy early (or stay up crazy late)!
    No, I DON'T need that.
