    hello icicle, the closer FG is too distracting and really overwhelmes the rest of this shot. The rest of the shot is fine and i like the smoothness of the water at that shutter speed.

    I love shooting at night! No crowds and you're forced to slow down. I agree with Leels. The FG elements are distracting because they are so bright. Other than that, I like the image.

    How did you light this? Is it natural moon light or did you use an artificial light source?

    i love the smoothness of the water, but that bush is distracting, looks like you used on camera flash?

    no flash, just a coleman lantern behind me about 10 feet or so.

    And yes just moonlight.

    Good efforts, probably better results than mine would have been. But yes, the blown out foliage is distracting, the crop is better but you can still see a bit in the lower corner - may be salvageable if you do some careful cloning though.

    Update:I'm going to be entering my picture tomorrow.
    I had it matted today and enlargend to a 11x14 print.
    I may not make it in to the top three, But sure hope I do.
