    Great textures and colors in this one, Dave. I like the contrast between the leaves, the shiny apples, and the black background. The light is really nice, too. It's bright, but not too harsh. Feels almost like winter light - or at least what I think of as winter light

    I feel like there may be a bit too much going on in this image. I'm thinking a tighter, more controlled composition might strengthen it. If this tree is in your yard, it's probably worth trying to take a new photo of it every day for a while. That can be a very useful exercise. Every time you go back to take another picture you'll refine what you did before, distilling what drew you in the first time.

    Thanks for that John, good idea. It's out back of the place I'm working at at the moment. I'll certainly give it some regular visits over the next day or two and see what I can do.
