I like both of these! Great DOF on them both and great colors. My only nitpick for the first one would be if you had included the seat of the one that you have in focus, but I think it still works as is.

I mean to include the whole seat in the shot. You crop it off right at the bottom of it, and I think it could use some breathing room on the bottom. I love the shot, the DOF is great, but the crop is just a little too tight for me.

I think that first photo is lacking a subject.
As it is now, I see a lot of out of focus chains, and one in focus, with an orange blob in the background.

I had to look hard to find the seat of the swing in the first shot.
There isn't quite enough depth of focus there to make the seat sharp, only the nearest chain.
The seat is right on the edge of the image and seems cut off at the bottom.

Perhaps it needs a bit more room below the seat, so that it's a little more obvious.
Also maybe put that sharp chain nearer the centre of the image, where currently there is the out of focus chain on the left of centre.
My eye is immediately drawn to that bigger, thicker chain, even though it's not in focus.
The one on the right is so far out of focus that it doesn't attract attention, which is good.
But I find the one just left of centre not separated far enough from the one that is in focus which I assume is meant to be the subject.

Heya Kevin, I also have a Minolta 7, but I did the firmware upgrade,... Is there any reason you didn't do it?

I liked both photo's but think the focus should have been on a closer chain, perhaps?

I'm going to be posting some of my Milolta 7 pics soon, that were taken by my 6yr old neice.. perhaps get her, her own account on here..lol

I like the second though to me its lacking something. I think maybe someone said this before but keep the whole seat in and keep the DOF on the seat and the chain or chains above. For the second maybe try some selective coloring on it with a B&W background.
