    The Jump

While waiting between softball games last weekend my nephew was playing around a stream in the park. He had that look like he was going to do something so I just kept watching him unitl he made the jump. Comments are always welcome.

it probably has sentimental value more than anything. from an uncle's point of view, it's a good photo. from a photography standpoint, it's decent, but because it is a bit soft and lacks any extremes, like extreme angle of shooting or anything, it fails to spike any real interest or emotion, other than probably with you. Still a great image for you to hang on the wall. just try to dodge the face a bit.

    Re: The Jump

The good parts: I think your timing was tack on as far as the leap was concerned...DOF is good blurs the background enought o allow your nephew to stand out. The crop on bottom is great...he's leaping keeps me wondering if he's leaping unto something safe or just into the water---good element of surprise

Opportunities for improvement: More of the surrounding either to the left or right of the image---preferably a bit more on both sides and a litle more on one side---was this a cropped image? I think the levels need some adjustment---seems a bit underexposed.
Maybe try some dogin and burning or areas near the water and rocks and potentially finishing it BW ---if keeping in color bump the saturation up a smidgen...here's an example of my take hope you don't mind(ignore bad cloning just wanted to give you a visual of what I meant)

I'd take him out again and try it again
