    Re: Juggling Act

I was gonna say it's too tight and would like to see the whole of him, but I changed my mind. that would've made the things he's juggling less prominent in the photo.

I guess, to me, this type of shot is extremely difficult. I think in this case it's more equipment than photographer. This type of shot, in dimmly lit places and assuming you're sitting further back, would need a long fast lens and those cost an arm and a leg. hehe.

ok so the problem is the sharpness for me, of the things he's juggling (don't know the name) and him too. I'm rambling but hmm, I'm not entirely sure what I don't like about it. There's a bit of a magenta tint also, white balance seems to be off. the head in the lower left is bothering me also.

I guess the reason why i can't help much is because I never attempted this type of shot. it's extremely tough and I don't have the glass for it. Also hate shooting with super high ISO. That could've fixed it had you boosted it up to 3000+

Maybe other people here can be better at the technical aspect and can tell you what speed you need to shoot this at, i'm thinking 1/250 at least?

No problem Lee, thank you for your feedback. I agree there are alot of problems with it. I was actually fairly close to him but there was no flash allowed during the show (completely understandable considering what he was doing) so I had to try a bunch of different combos of shutterspeed/aperture/ISO in order to actually get him in focus and not have his arms be a complete blur.

What do you think about the composition? I wanted it in tight because I wanted to give the feeling that we were in his world for a moment. The crowd is there in the background but they are an afterthought because his focus is on the performance. ie. his eyes.

I'm not good with the post processing yet so if anyone would like to edit and repost please be my guest, I would be interested to see how much better it could look when touched by someone who knows what they are doing.

EDIT: I decided to try a little PP myself and this is what I came up with. Better?

    Re: Juggling Act

Not so easy, I've tried taking a shot similar to this with no success. I'd still crop a bit more from the gentleman just above his belt and a bit more on the right. If you can clone out the lines and other distracting things on the top of the shot that would be good at least in my humble opinion.
    Shootme...
