Joker's Wild (Warning -- Implied Nudity)

Almost didn't go to this models shoot tonight due to a rough week at work.

Glad I did - they had some really great models. The shoot was themed on COMIC-CON, which just kicked off tonight here in San Diego (they sold out so fast only one person at the shoot had tickets).

C&Cs are welcome. I have an idea or two to make it better, though one of them will be hard. What do you think?

Love the set up, I'd have liked to see more light on the eyes to give some extra definition, surprised there is not more comments on this one, so much happening in the shot. The hair on the left might have been better tucked away. You must had fun taking these shots, lucky opportunity. Maybe one other thing, a tighter crop on the right to eliminate the shadow cast as there isn't enough shadow to warrant keeping it in my humble opinion.

nice costume... the folds in the background is very obvious... battling with the main subject

not a fan of the pose since the right hand with black gloves just blends in with her head.,,making really dark shadows.

hard shadow on right side of body is just to deep and takes away details of the shape of her left breast.

left shoe/feet is not positioned properly.. would be nice if you see it.

    GB,

Looks like great fun no matter what. I am not crazy about the shadow on the right either, and that can easily be fixed. And I noticed the dark spot between right hand and head also. But these are a triffle of nitpicks. I think you did well and had a good time doing it.

thks for commenting - reading these is interesting because you've (all) caught a number of the things I have misgivings about, but at the same time, I think some of the things you mention, like the shadows, add dimensionality and allure. Catch more comments to this one in the PP forum, which I started a thread for dealing with the left foot issue.

ShootMe, good feedback. I agree that generally you want a clear viewpt of the eyes, but here I do not believe the scene is about them. I sort of like the ad hoc-ness (if thats a word) of the hair, it releases tension. Armando didn't like that black line down there,.. I guess I could take it out with a bit of work.

Phill, I like her dark glove but classically I guess I can see your vwpoint. I like the shadows as it makes her 3D, but I really dislike that left foot. See the other thread : I'm working to fix it, have one more edit to make. Yeah that background could be farther away, but hard to do... She would need to still be kneeling on it but it would have to extend about 5 feet farther back. I think I mentioned this to the guy who set it up, who ignored me and continued shooting. Such are these group shoots. I'm actually surprised the backgrd looks as good as it does.

thks CF - I had an Ok time, arrived late and tired from work, no planning, grab shooting. It was in a La Jolla art gallery. The model's a super ham - you should see some of her other shots, crazy good!

ps - yes it's funny how few people commented on this one. It seems to me that landscape images draw much more interest?

Well I learned something here as well, foot placement; have to try and remember how little things (to me as a novice) like that can be so important. Yet to hear however how the foot should have been. I await the answer...

Ok Shootme, here's what I zeroed in on. I think whatever looks comfortable and bold is what it should be. Maybe after the Photoshop world conference in Sept I will be able to put some additional twists on it.
